Greetings squad. TWIM 52 is a special episode here at FHP. This will be our first post since moving the site to a self-hosted platform, and we couldn’t be happier. Bear with us (yes, that’s grammatically correct) as we move through this transition period, and stay tuned for future updates regarding the site’s appearance.
However, for the time being let’s get back to business – the music. This week’s playlist features a heavy hip-hop vibe with a hint of electro-pop, more in-tune with the Flowerhouse style. Kamaiyah’s “Out the Bottle” is absolutely blowing up right now. The 20-year rapper out of Oakland is reppin’ the 90s hard, and winning at being today’s Missy Elliot//Lil’ Kim//Eve. Minneapolis’ singer/songwriter, Morly, is gearing up to release her second EP, Something More Holly later this spring. Her latest single, “Plucky” offers the perfect blend of catchy pop vocals and electronic synths. Lastly, we’d like to give a shoutout to AC from Minnesota for recommending Phony Ppl – “Why iii Love the Moon.” AC has been a faithful listener (and friend) since the beginning. This song will definitely be blasting from our speakers for months to come – thanks man! Catch ya next week.
