Easy (indie) Rock care of Work Drugs
Dad Wave is for real. Earlier this year it was Unknown Mortal Orchestra and now Philadelphia’s favorite sons, Work Drugs, have released a new track that probably could have sounded right at home on any 80’s easy-rock station back in the day.
Roll is definitely chilled out, but not in a Beach House/Tennis sort of way. Rather, Roll is probably sonically closer to the Motels than it is to most of their contemporaries. That’s not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.
Perhaps the best part is that Work Drugs have somehow made a full-on, non-ironic sax solo sound…well, current.
