Everyone has a song they wish they could take back and for me that would be Koko’s Float. The band has since changed their name, but back when Brandon and I saw them, they were still just koko…and they put on, without a doubt, the worst show I’ve ever seen.
Many years later, it seems I’ve learned absolutely nothing because I’m finding myself strangely attracted to Mating Rituals’ Thief. Here’s hoping that I’m not regretting this one 6 years from now…
Husky has several things going for them. First and foremost, Ghost is an absolute killer track. Secondly, I’m a University of Washington alum so it goes without saying that I love all things husky. Finally, these guys hail from Australia, which since Brexit and Trump has suddenly become the most attractive pseudo-English speaking country around. (I kid, I kid) Their new album, Punchbuzz drops in June.
Arizona would like you to give them your Electric Touch. My recommendation is to just do it.
Say My Name runs on the poppy side, but Tove Stryke can do no wrong in my eyes. Plus, I just love the chorus, ” wear it out like a sweater that you love cuz I can’t get enough of you…” Someday I’ll need to ask her what its like being the Shakespeare of her generation. #nosarcasm
We don’t usually feature remixes, but several of these bands and/or songs have been featured on our website over the years and frankly the Friendly Fires track is just too good not to highlight again. Do yourself a favor by scrolling down to track number 5, Hurting, and get ready to move.
Ever wonder what Phoenix and The Go! Team might sound like if they ever decided to form a supergroup? Well, check out The Jungle Giants‘ On Your Way Down and wonder no more.
You honestly didn’t think we would get to the end of this post without including a indie folk track did you? Wild Child by Freedom Fry does the trick nicely thank you.
